Abstract
Cyberbegging is an online begging activity that we know is increasingly widespread due to advances in information and communication technology so that it has an influence on people's lives. The method used in this research is normative law which examines or analyzes a law that applies to research problems with a descriptive analysis approach. The purpose of this research is to review the phenomenon of cyberbegging through the YouTube platform from the perspective of maqashid sharia. In the Islamic context, maqashid sharia is a basic principle that aims to protect five main interests, namely religion, soul, mind, offspring, and property. The results of the study found that the phenomenon of cyberbegging can have negative implications for the fulfillment of maqashid sharia, especially in the aspect of protecting property and human dignity, and in practice that cyberbegging activists in their daily lives ask for donations to online bookies during live broadcasts when playing online games. Thus, the author is interested in studying this phenomenon based on maqashid sharia principles and providing countermeasure education to the community to minimize the negative impact of cyber begging and ensure that no one makes this a profession.
