Author Guidelines

The AICIEF Proceedings article template can be accessed here.

Authors must follow these guidelines carefully. Manuscripts that do not comply with the official template, academic standards, or publication ethics may be returned or rejected without further review.

1. General Requirements

1. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another publication.
2. Manuscripts must be relevant to Islamic economics, Islamic finance, Islamic banking, Islamic business, halal industry, Islamic social finance, financial technology, entrepreneurship, sustainability, or related interdisciplinary fields.
3. Manuscripts must be written entirely in clear academic English.
4. Authors must use the official AICIEF article template.
5. Manuscripts must be submitted in editable Microsoft Word format.
6. The recommended manuscript length is 4,000–7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
7. Manuscripts with serious language problems, unclear methods, weak academic contributions, excessive similarity, or ethical violations may be rejected during editorial screening.

2. Manuscript Format

The manuscript must use:

• Times New Roman;
• 12-point font for the main text;
• single spacing;
• justified alignment;
• 6-point spacing after paragraphs; and
• the page layout provided in the official template.

Authors must not change the margins, header, footer, page numbering, or general layout of the template.

Article Title

The title must:

• be written in English;
• use Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold;
• be clear, specific, and informative;
• contain no more than approximately 20 words; and
• avoid abbreviations, citations, and unnecessary words.

Author Information

Author names must be written without academic degrees or professional titles.

Each author must provide:

• full name;
• complete institutional affiliation;
• city and country; and
• active email address.

The corresponding author must be clearly identified.

3. Article Structure

Manuscripts must contain the following sections:

3. Abstract
4. Keywords
5. Introduction
6. Literature Review
7. Research Methodology
8. Results and Discussion
9. Conclusion
10. Acknowledgements, if applicable
11. Funding Statement
12. Conflict of Interest Statement
13. References

4. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must:

• be written in English;
• contain 150–250 words;
• use Times New Roman, 12 pt, italics;
• be written in one paragraph;
• contain no citations; and
• briefly present the background, objective, method, main findings, conclusion, and implications.

Authors must provide three to five keywords.

Keywords must:

• be arranged alphabetically;
• be separated by semicolons; and
• represent the main concepts of the article.

5. Introduction

The Introduction must clearly explain:

• the research background;
• the importance of the topic;
• recent and relevant previous studies;
• the specific research gap;
• the novelty or contribution of the study; and
• the research objective or research questions.

The research gap must be stated explicitly and must not merely claim that few studies have been conducted.

6. Literature Review

The Literature Review must:

• explain the relevant theories;
• critically compare previous studies;
• identify inconsistencies or limitations in earlier research; and
• support the development of the research framework or hypotheses.

The section must not consist only of definitions or article-by-article summaries.

Each major argument should be supported by sufficient and relevant references.

7. Research Methodology

The methodology must clearly describe:

• research design and approach;
• research location and period;
• population and sample or participants;
• sampling technique;
• data sources;
• data collection procedures;
• research instruments;
• variable measurement, where applicable;
• data analysis technique;
• software used; and
• ethical procedures, where applicable.

The methodology must provide enough information for readers to understand and evaluate the research process.

8. Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion section must:

• present findings systematically;
• refer to all tables and figures in the text;
• avoid copying raw statistical output directly from software;
• explain the meaning of the findings;
• compare the findings with previous studies;
• relate the results to relevant theories; and
• explain theoretical, practical, managerial, social, or policy implications.

The discussion must not merely repeat statistical results.

For hypothesis testing, authors should use the terms:

• “the hypothesis is supported”; or
• “the hypothesis is not supported.”

Where relevant, the Islamic economic, financial, business, or ethical perspective must be integrated into the discussion.

9. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must:

• be numbered consecutively;
• have clear titles;
• be mentioned in the manuscript text;
• fit within the page margins;
• use readable text;
• include sources where necessary; and
• be presented in editable or high-resolution format.

Statistical tables must be reformatted. Screenshots or direct copies from SPSS, SmartPLS, EViews, Stata, or similar software are not permitted.

Table titles must be placed above the table. Figure captions must be placed below the figure.

10. Conclusion

The Conclusion must:

• answer the research objectives;
• summarise the main findings;
• explain the contribution of the study;
• present practical or policy implications;
• state the research limitations; and
• provide recommendations for future research.

The Conclusion must not repeat statistical figures, tables, or lengthy discussion from previous sections.

11. Citations and References

AICIEF Proceedings uses APA 7th edition.

Authors must use a reference manager such as:

• Mendeley;
• Zotero

The reference list must:

• include only cited sources;
• contain all sources cited in the manuscript;
• be arranged alphabetically;
• include DOI links where available; and
• follow APA 7 consistently.

Authors should provide at least 25 references.

At least 80% of references should be peer-reviewed journal articles, with priority given to publications from the last five years.

Older references may be used for major theories, classical sources, or methodological foundations.
