This research aims to analyze the level of readiness of prospective human resources (HR) of Islamic banking in facing the challenges of financial technology (fintech) development in the digital era. The background of this research is based on the increasing role of fintech in the transformation of the Islamic finance industry which requires digital competence, sharia understanding, and adaptive skills of prospective workers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by involving students of the Sharia Banking Study Program, Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University, Sa Marinda as the research subject. Data were obtained through open-ended questionnaires and documentation which were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model.
The results of the study show that most students have a good level of awareness and understanding of the concept of fintech and its urgency in the development of the Islamic finance industry. However, readiness in terms of technical skills and practical abilities is still moderate due to the limited number of digital-based learning facilities and the lack of direct training. In terms of attitude and adaptation, students show a positive view of technological innovation, although there are still doubts about the suitability of some fintech models with sharia principles. This research emphasizes the importance of synergy between educational institutions, financial authorities, and the Islamic banking industry in forming competent, adaptive, and integrity human resources in the midst of the digital transformation of the Islamic financial sector.
